School officials, architect explain referendum requests at public meeting

Citizens of Chatfield joined the administrators of Chatfield’s school system and representatives of R. A. Morton, the architectural firm the district employs, to discuss the possibilities that exist should an operating and facility referendum be passed on Tuesday, Nov. 3, to provide new operating funds and money to update Chatfield’s high school, which dates to 1959.
After nearly a year of study by various stakeholders, it has been determined that the community needs to be approached by the School District for assistance in stabilizing the operating budget and dealing with facilities at the high school that are in need of maintenance and educational updates.
Chatfield School Board calls for three-question referendum

The Chatfield School Board voted unanimously Monday, Aug. 17, to pose a three-question referendum to district residents to determine whether the district will increase its operating levy, renovate the high school, and make various repairs and improvements that are on the district’s wish list.
